WiFi Amplifier HA5801-500
HyperAmp® HA5801 series are 5.8 GHz version of Hyperlink’s amplifiers for 802.11a wireless LANs. They are compatible with IEEE 802.11a OFDM radios as well as radios using Direct Sequence or Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum modulation.
The HA5801 is a fixed gain amplifier with up to 500 mW or +27 dBm of output power. The gain is fixed at the factory at +10 dB. The receive gain compensates for cable losses and actually increases the receive sensitivity of most wireless LAN radios. This feature permits long cable runs with no degradation in operating range.
The HyperAmp® 5.8 GHz amplifier series features an all-metal weather-proof enclosure of die cast aluminum, making it suitable for demanding industrial and military applications.
For outdoor applications, the HA5801 improves range and reliability by placing up to full transmit power as well as 10 dB of low-noise receive gain directly at the antenna where it is most effective. Designed for outdoor installations, this amplifier feature rugged weatherproof construction to ensure years of reliable operation in the harshest environments. Included with the outdoor model, the DC Power Injector provides power to the HyperAmp® through the antenna cable, simplifying installation. Current-sensing circuits provide remote amplifier diagnostic LEDs. In addition, this unit provides effective lightning protection with multi-strike capability.
The power supply included with the amplifier is rated at 100-240 VAC @ 50/60 Hz allowing it to be used in the US as well as in the EU when used with the optional PSX-EU2 Plug converter (US NEMA 6-15R Flat Blades to EU 4/4.8 mm round pins).
This HyperLink bi-directional amplifier is designed for burst half-duplex operation. It is not intended for constant transmit or CW operation.
Operation of the amplifier in CW mode will damage the amplifier and void the warranty.
